What's Up With Black Men?

There seems to be a growing interest (negative/positive) surrounding the black man in America these days. Does it stem from ancient history, or is it something new? Do you have anything to add about the promotion or oppression of the black man's image in America? Pray tell...:)

New Day!

Have you ever just woke up one morning and said, "Yes! Today is the day for new beginnings"? Well today can be that day... Always realize, as long as you have breath in your body, someone somewhere thought that your life was worth waking up again. And yes! You are worth it. You have the power to begin a NEW DAY! Old things are passed away and behold all things are made new!

Hair Appreciation!!!

There was a time when I did everything imaginable to my hair to get that "desired" look. Unfortunately for me and the majority of people walking this earth, the fine print of the "desired" look was something less than to be desired. (fine print) Split ends, frizzy, fried, and fricaseed! At this point and time in my life, I am 33 years old, and I APPRECIATE my hair! I mean really. Earthlings have tried to live up to this ridiculous standard of some persons idea of beauty. I for one will not follow those weird rules anymore. My big afro-centric hair (to the left of this blog) is NOT Unbeweavable...It's UNBELIEVABLE! So what about you? Do you have comments about your new hair appreciation? Lemme noe:)

How To Survive Above The Survivalist Mentality....

It seems as if in these current times of economic crisis, the average American has been living in a state of anxiety. With our fellow neighbor feeling like the "rug" could be yanked from under their feet at any given moment, interpersonal tension is on the rise. The way we deal with family life, job performance, stress relief, and simple tasks such as driving and taking care ourselves has been compromised due to the "Iffy" syndrome. If this or that catastrophe happens, but actually hasn't happened yet, but it causes one to operate as if it already has happened, because they are being told it definitely will happen, then how can we cope and survive with a clear mind and spirit? I don't know about you but as for me and the people I know, being positive has been the only way to survive. Really. It is.
